Hi there! I'm Gert-Jan, or just G-J for short.

I'm Director: Engineering & Innovation at the Octoco Group, a technology group based in Stellenbosch, South Africa that I co-founded. Nowadays I spend most my time with Octoco AI, our company that focuses on the applications of AI in business.

I spent nearly two decades in academia before moving into business full time. I retain my ties with Stellenbosch University as Extra-Ordinary Associate Professor in Industrial Engineering.
